trying to put a bee in a cocoon

by Ava Blu

spreading wall paper
like peanut butter on toast,
hoping he’ll be the nail
you keep trying to cover up

you’re doing it all wrong

[you only trap when using glue]

use the honey he’s been making
for others
to keep his wings
fluttering for you

when the welts
on your heart bleed,
remember,
he never asked to be
(re) decorated.

Author's Note: a reminder to myself that it is more difficult to hold onto hope than it is to keep love. **can't believe Miss M was the only one to catch that typo! thanks! that is what happens when you type with one good eye**

The metaphor is just so off the wall (forgive..). That's what's enticing. Nice job.

Beautifully put... Sad and wise.
