Sonnet by Kourosh Taheri-Golvarzi'Twas during dawn when hunger reared its head,
While Mom, Kadabr, Igor, Ron, and Spike
Were fast asleep that there was need for bread,
For Sverre came home hungry from his hike.
There was no meat or lettuce in the fridge
And all the mayonnaise had been licked dry
But Sverre'll not stay hungered hence one smidge,
As such a lack of groc'ries would imply.
'Twas then the clock read "9am", so stores
Were open selling groc'ries people need,
While Sverre went, he said, "I need no chores!"
And bought the necessary foods with blinding speed!
So Sverre had his sandwich, meat and drink
And went to bed and thought, "it makes you think..." 07/03/2005 Posted on 07/04/2005 Copyright © 2025 Kourosh Taheri-Golvarzi
