In the randomness by Scott CadenceIn the randomness
its a surprise we can hold it all together
that cognitive words come from my mouth
There are times when the silence is a maddening shroud
vale thin
and I put my head in my hands
I walk out of the room like a person from a theatre
running the events over and over again
till Im odd in my own skin
So when you do come through to me
breaking the trance Im in
that blank stare I get from a tail light blinking on my face
causing my eyes to retract
darkness
light
darkness
light
youre the horn that reminds me
its time to move
and Ill always call it
meant to be
and you may never believe
in the story that beer caps leave
the evidence is everywhere
that you where here
while I was looking away
from the intensity of your stare
I could hear that smile crack from miles way
sounding a bit like heaven
like a line I built a poem around
your holding me together
existing in the randomness
you and I the only common left
