Heaven is Waiting

by Shonda Creemer

"Are you ready to die?" the voice asked.

"Do I really have a say in the matter?" I questioned.

"Perhaps" the voice answered.

"Well I suppose then ~ my answer would be yes and no"
I said.

"Tell me about your yes" came the voice.

With confidence, I answered "I have placed my eternity
in capable Hands, came to terms with my regrets, learnt
from my lessons, loved when given the chance, and lived
as much as possible."

"Ok, tell me about your no" came the voice again.

"I still have dreams yet to be fulfilled, tasks left
undone, words not yet spoken, and a special love I
have not found." I said as a tear rolled down my cheek.

Then with a gentle voice, God spoke "My sweet, sweet
child ~ have you ever taken a moment to stop and
realize that in your yeses, there your noes are to
be found."

I was silent.

He then asked me once more "Are you ready to die?"

And in my new found wisdom, I replied "Father, when
You have finished with my life ~ I will be ready. I
will see you then."

He smiled and said, "I will be waiting."

Incredibly thought provoking, I hope I get to have this conversation when the time comes. Thanks for posting this, I needed the spiritual snack.
