Why Won't You Just Die, pt. 1: The Offer

by Marcus Jones

i have one question:
why don't you do all of us a favor
and give us all a memory we can savor?
take a revolver,
put it up under your chin just right,
and take a bullet train
to that bright white light
that's beyond eyesight
of the living
enter the land of the dead
i would just love to see
your teeth exiting the top of your head!
you know you deserve it
hell, you fucking earned it!
i know you know you're going to Hell
and well, that's where you'll be burned, bitch!
a long, sad life etched and marred by mediocrity
punctuated by a wall stained red with your brain debris
it's so tragic, and yet
you should have seen it coming
common sense tried
to tie your ass down but you kept running
you knew from the beginning
that your ass wasn't winning
this damn race
when you're faced
with really tough decisions
you chose to not make a choice
and let life carry you away
yeah, you bitch now
but back then you ain't have shit to say
so don't blame me for anything
that feels like arrows and slings
look at your damn SELF! do
you know what the fuck you've put us through?
see, everyone was right about how you would turn out
including me, believe me, confidently, i had no doubt
you've always been a failure
in matters of relationships and love
and your friends-
WHAT FRIENDS?!!
laugh at your ass from above
and speaking of above, look down!
see your wrists?
one...
two...
two wrists, one knife
now what the fuck you gonna do?
i'll tell you what to do:
either use the gun or the blade
hell, use both!
that way there's a guarantee you won't be saved!
because your life ain't worth saving
that's been proven time and again
and i'd rather have you do it
than someone else bring you to an end
someone will, soon enough
just piss off the right folks
and you'll find out what it's like
to have blood gushing from your throat
these are your options and that's sad
but hey, what did you expect?
nobody ever said it was easy
especially with the shit YOU gotta correct
maybe if you were to apologize
we could somehow right your wrongs
but if you don't apologize?
well...maybe you would be better off gone
you got a chance with the razor
it's "Game Over" with the gun
or prove to you and me you're chickenshit
pack your shit up quick and run
you have nothing
you are nothing
never be someone
you're a joke
i'm surprised long ago someone
in your family didn't choke
the living piss up out your ass
for wasting the good family name
i'm sure they regret it and i regret it;
it's a crying damn shame
'cause if they had have done you in
there'd be mercy in your death
instead of you committing suicide
and possibly fucking it up yourself
which is why i hope and pray that you'll
do it right the first time
don't want to add another failure
to the very front of a long line!

Author's Note: this is another one of those poems that just jumps out there without any planning or anything. the inspiration for this came from those speeches in old gangster movies after the mafia guy gives one of his lower guys a tough assignment like a robbery or a hit and they blow it big time. the idea was, what if you messed up so bad in a relationship that your lover starts to give you these options as a way to make he/she feel better. no apology, no starting over, that's it. you're dead to them. from that idea came this...

Well all I can say is that after reading Part 2, Part 1 certainly did not disappoint. Great Job, I like it even more after reading the comment. I also liked your use of exclamation points.
