Ursa Major Dancer by Lulu AlderThe brief reunion lasts millennia.
Conversations of enchanted simplicity
played like an orchestra of harps
playing our song.
The harmonious elixir danced through the air and the stars and the heavens
and all the hearts of friends ripened to lovers.
Then a touch that concludes all expositions,
a touch that spoke volumes and hushed promises
on the perfumed breath of summer,
was more thrilling than the sea birthing a sunrise.
And a glance escaped your eyes
that revealed yourself—
your joy.
And in that moment it seemed like embracing a rainbow.
Without possessiveness or deception
you took me in,
allowed me
to experience the depths of you
and the authenticity of your soul.
Maybe the words went unuttered,
but what weight do words have when all the earth sings
I love you
