In the Light of an Eye by Maria Terezia Ferenczin the light of an eye
is gold
deep joys remain untold
held prisoner secret within
to others who would call them sin
in the light of an eye
is black
deep buried sorrow intact
tears left
safe
kept from sight
from others who just might
call stupid call soft
call dumb
they see me
as being numb
in the light of an eye
is red
of anger
that I should dread
to show my color
be known
anger
at being alone
