mop and bucket (clean water)

by Melanie J Yarbrough

I've been thinking of leaving
and running away
but someone once told me

it only stops hurting when you die
so I'm saving my money.

mel, i like this. i can see what you're saying. it's one of those poems that you can think too much about, wondering if it's right or not, but i really do think it works as is.

Well, one can only be born again when one dies. One can rejoice in this death as a new being emerges, who can not be hurt.
