Fantasy Part I by Malika BiersteinI lay in the blue morning light
straddling the afterglow
of such a moment
like a cowboy lazing his way
home after a day of good game,
body spent and satisfied,
a crimson sun slowly sinking
below the horizon. I am filled with color
at the thought of you, vibrant energy
finding its way to the deepest core of me,
releasing itself in waves. Your body
is a fantasy I visit often, close my eyes and pull you
deep inside, your breath on my skin, your face
on my mind. I open my mouth deep and wide and gasp
at the empty air, silence that tells me
I am alone on this high, lips moist,
sweat trickling down my spine.
I am moved, beyond poetry,
though the pen still finds my hand,
wraps it around itself like a strong promise
of what is yet to come. The sun
shines through my window now,
amber stakes of day shifting
time one step closer. You say it's okay
and I believe you for now, find strength
in your words though impatience blooms
like wildflowers in my veins, deep at the core:
your scent, your name.
