Ain't No Such Misery

by James Zealy

Ain't no such misery
As building a house
Expect this and get that
Cajole, and ego preen
Construction manager pride

And then sit and watch
And Watch and watch
While events never transpire
Promises empty and barren as the Sahara
Are made and sorta kept only
Two months past due

While contracters snicker,
Do what they please
While we helpless flay and moan
Inflicting county inspector ears a buzz
With our paranoid and impatient pleas

Financial distress rules the day
As the lock of rate blows by
And we are left scrambling
For something to replace
Our mood blue anger
At their total lack of care

Our dream house has become
Our house of dog
We only hope for this process
To end to end TO END!!!

So at last we can parlay
Our broken dreams into
Reality that at least
Brings relief

Author's Note: Never ever build a house even if its a modular. Its a guaranteed recipe for the insane asylum.
