The Bottle

by Kourosh Taheri-Golvarzi

A swig, a step, a meter down the slope,
thus such such firewater burns;
A civil virus dousing hope,
and so the best of man to ashes turns.

Kourosh, I like the way you express the results of drinking too much. Your quatrain is full of implications, not just about the drinker, but how it affects society in general.

not bad not bad here...something to consider is your use of the word "such" twice here... perhaps adding a comma or some punctuation here would help this small hiccup flow a little more smoothly... a nice little write you have here.
