Mind's Eye

by Christopher Shin

Yesterdays were better,
but I wonder when I am
gone will I be remembered
with some hope or
shattered jagged memories
of nothing.

Today the wind blows
for me yet I feel no
solice in the darkness
of my tempered youth.

Lyrics flutter like
song birds as I
stare at the gages
in my ticking heart.

When youth has gone,
and old age remains
I ponder when will
I find any hope in it
all.

I do not know what
many will find in me.
Nor any redemption in
immortality.

All I know is that death
and life seem to mix
into one in my mind's eye.
