so... i drank the world

by Angela Thomas

I must have thrown up for at least an hour
on just about everything in sight. You must
have helped me because when I woke up
it was all taken care of. Your arms and lips

and head were tangled up in mine. I kissed
you softly on the cheek and you smiled
and I smiled. We put our bodies together
and held one another as we trembled

and whispered each other's name. Ken, baby,
mine. All mine?
You agreed and we kissed
soft on the mouth while I came. Our breath
seemed to be caught somewhere between

our two mouths and our four hands and our
eight limbs and our one heart. Our one heart.

The title is what caught my attention and you kept it all the way down to the very last line. This is so beautiful.
