(NEW!) In The Doghouse - Prologue by Jersey D GibsonPROLOGUE - CITY STREETS, DAY 5, NIGHT
We are at a city street, at the dead of night, in some seedy part of town in the Motor City. In the street, are busted street lights, dilapidated buildings, shell casings, bullet holes, and bodies. There are more signs of a recent shootout, which covers both sides of the street.
Cops are slowly beginning to swarm the place with pistols and shotguns out.
We speed away to a lumbering FedEx Truck, where there are two occupants, Jersey and Matt. Jersey is driving, while Matt is in the back, bleeding, a gun still in hand.
MATT - Jersey, are we almost there? It's hard to stay awake.
JERSEY - Don't worry bud, we're almost there! Just stay awake, and we'll be there in no time.
Jersey chances a look back to the man in the back of the FedEx van. He can easily see a large puddle of blood underneath Matt, his head lying to the side limply on a carton. The pistol he still held was bearly held onto, dangling from the wounded man's forefinger. Jersey looked back long enough to see Matt's eyes roll up into his head.
JERSEY - Matt? Matt! Don't you pass out on me! Wake up, god damn it!
And the FedEx Truck lumbered on into the dark city streets.
