Dicter merch Aeth

by Amanda J Cobb

Does it make you happy to know
that at least one person still thinks about you?
The others do, too, but not in the same way.
How could they?

I understand better than anyone
why you did what you did.
I know that the whole note blaming my mother
was just a front, a half-truth.
I went through your computer,
I found your hidden files -
the seven-page love notes you never sent.
I know whose face you pasted
over other women's naked bodies.
And yes, I even kept your secret -
a single keystroke, and your private passion
was erased from memory, from existence.

A part of me wonders if you're laughing right now,
laughing at how everything
worked out just like you wanted.

A part of me wonders if addressing you as 'you'
even has meaning anymore.

A part of me wonders if you are burning.
