identity crisis

by Shonda Creemer

I once knew this guy named
Barney
every time we talked I thought
of that annoying purple dino
with his catchy little tune

{"I love you, You love me
we're a happy family..."}
you get the picture

He made me fall in love with him
~the man, not the dinosaur ~
promised me that he would wear a
purple tux on our wedding day

He ran off the Florida to try
and find himself ~ came back a
different creature ~ must have
been those alligators

too bad, because purple has
always been my favorite color
green only comes in third

Shon, I like the ironic tone in the ending lines. Some guys just don't know a good women when they find one. Yeah, I'm not too fond of gators either.

you know...I am always amazed at how you turn everyday situations into poetic words that ring bells of solidarity in us all... thanks for the share!
