Spinning slowly around me
Caught in my gravitational field.
I never asked for a moon.
As long as you're there, though,
Since you'll be there anyway,
Would you watch out for me?
I don't have to see your dark side.
You can phase in and out of my life
I would just really prefer you not to leave
I will let you go when you're ready
To float away into the sun
I never asked for a moon
But I'll use one as long as I can.
