Monthly Patterns of the Wolf

by Amanda Bullington

A fearsome wolf bathes in the twilight,
Snarling as the arid wind ruffles her fur,
Pouncing on each movement within her sight.

Dark trees encompass her muscular body,
Trapping her in the blustering night.
She hunts with ravenous instinct and livid

Raging passion dwells with her might.
Powerful is she until the waning moon
Dispatches her unto its endless flight.

Author's Note: Another oldie. I've revised this one countless times, but I'm still not 100% happy. Too much rhyme.
