Trapped Desire

by Maria Terezia Ferencz

So lucky they are
to have what we all long for
but refusing to let it grow
it lays unused unknown

an unseen falling star
beautiful
yet never adored
a flower grown in concrete
trampled
under unknowing feet

it is there waiting
unloved unseen
one small stroke
from what it needs

One small spark
can light this fire
set it free
this trapped desire

Interesting that you used the last stanza for rhyme. Was it intentional? It adds a melodic undertone.
