On falling...

by Bradd Howard

I bit the ground hard
all chalk full of my own Snow White.
there's blood on the gravel and a chipped tooth on your doorstop, love.
I once fingered your redness, touched it to my whiteness and thought "this is how it's supposed to be"
road rash and a dirty mistake
showers, showers, shower.
sometimes you don't come clean
and then the water runs cold.
like lips, frosted by the wind
that haven't been kissed in a long time.

Author's Note: haven't written in awhile so just decided to conjure this up so I could post something :)

i like the reference to that moment in the shower when the water runs cold and you realize you've been in there so long. just enough sentiment in this. (sorry about the overload of comments, but I love your stuff)
