Consumate empathy of stars by Vikki OwensThe lights shine just for us,
in their sympathy they swirl,
coalesce, luminesce...
I have seen your eyes in the lights.
The consumate empathy of stars,
the eternal vigiliance of the city,
we gather ourselves under the banner of
pinprick galaxies.
In your eyes I have seen a thousand lights,
a thousand glimmers of us,
ten-thousand million memories, supernovae
in the pupil.
The stars fall down, cover us with comfort,
blanket us with eyes.
You are there and the stars are there and
my heart is full of you
and lights. 05/19/2005 Posted on 05/19/2005 Copyright © 2024 Vikki Owens
