Worthy to pawn

by Ava Blu

I visited the local pawn shop
had a few gold chains to sell
a man with a crooked eye
looked me up and down

he asked if I had been there before
as he gulped at my breasts

his good eye told me I had brought the right stuff;
just what everyone wants
(what do you want?)

I showed him my chains
as I hid behind my purse
I was having a hard time
stomaching his stare

he gave me $125
as he tried to peek down my shirt
made a comment about my shiny car
his eye had been on me from the start

I went to leave
but had one question
Turning around,
I asked how much I could get for my breasts

his embarrassed eye had been revealed
but his stance was steady
as he answered
"Not as much as your heart."

Author's Note: Just wrote this and it's my 100th poem posted on here. I may need help with the title though.

great descriptions in the beginning jeanna. gets a little loose after the midway point, but overall i'd say you stepped it up with this poem.
