The Misadventures of Howard J. Witsend #2 Â 2 Women and Friends by Jeffrey ParrenAn only child, Howard developed
A keen sense of individualism
With a dire need to communicate.
The only two women to appreciate
And stifle his mental passion are gone.
One was abandoned in college. She
Said the wrong thing to an incorrect person.
The group leader weeded her out,
She was much like Howard, yet he followed
The group mentality, true friendship,
Possibly more, he did allow destruction.
The other abandoned him. She died.
His mother. Howard loved her so much.
She always remarked how hard it was
To find a true friend, who understood
You for who you really were. One of her
Brothers was that for her. He cried, first
Sight of her in years, in a casket. Howard
Wishes he could go back into time, ask his
Mother to write down her wisdom. Her
Intelligence was only surpassed by her love
And care and fight. She fought hard. She lost.
Howard lost. Being understood has escaped. 05/12/2005 Author's Note: *Revised 5-13-05
