Tuesday evening ~ sitting on my front porch

by Shonda Creemer

I can smell the sweetness of the
honeysuckle growing on the fence
~ even more so when the breeze
decides to send it my way.

I hear the birds chirping-singing
to each other from way up high in
my big oak tree to way down here
in my tiny cedar.

There are two giant wood bees
dancing that dance so many of us
desire ~ buzzing quite abit.

I laugh because this makes my
little Saussie very curious, and
we all know that kind of curiosity
has the tendency to sting.

Squire is searching frantically for
his purple squeaky ~ a funny looking
creature that sad to say has already
lost its squeak ~ nonetheless, it
works just fine for our game of fetch.

A plane flies overhead.
A car passes by.
The sun is setting.

As I close my eyes ~ I thank God
for His blessings that surround
me this very moment (OUCH)
munching mosquitoes and all.
