girls to women

by Charlie Morgan

girls to women, before my eyes,
and with full-hearted tries
thru days of wine and misdirection
marked by my life's selections.

you, wife, daughter and Mother, too
bringing Heavenly adieus
to all that's on Earth
and with each moment's birth,

we give, we lose, we share
each breath, each care.

nurturing incubators of life's measure
are the caches of unexpected pleasures.
my love, my bride, my daughter
loaned to me for the barter

trading for happiness held in dreams
to hearts of smiles making me beam.

thankful for today, yesterdays and what's to come
hoping i can show my worth in some
way that both of you can see
that without either, i'm not Me.
