bring me down by Vikki Owensthe stars flicker, blur like
lines, stretches of the spiral,
stretches of infinite satellites
and i am out there,
the ether surrounds me, planetary
movement moves me,
and then you bring me down,
then you tether me,
then you retrieve me from
the solar system,
enter the atmosphere,
burn like a meteorite,
tell him I love him...
crash into the sea and the sea
is vast around me,
sparkles fish past me, zig-zag
motion of a startled school,
blue so rich it fills me, adrift
with seaweed hair, a halo of strands
held aloft by soft saltwater
and then you bring me down,
then you anchor me,
then you pull like a riptide
to the oceanfloor, to the dark deep,
where the creatures sleep
with bio-luminescence...
