American movies (and the beautiful people in them)

by Amanda Bullington

American movies bring only the beautiful people
On the big screen.

True talent is ignored for the stronger calling
[an overload to the sex drives of American teenagers
who pay membership fees to the box office each weekend]

No longer does the plot hold meaning (as at the
Beginning of filmography); the 21st century filmmaker aims to

Dazzle the senses first,
Evoke emotion second,
And educate only if the two hour storyline leaves time.

What matters is not the characters, but how their
Tiny, undernourished bodies fit into the scenery
(and even that's not real on the green screen)

American movies bring the underachievers to the screen:
Hollywood's players based on face, never the creations made
(who recalls a story's morals anyway? Aesop's ceased to be;

These rampant overpopulations save their faces in case
They become famous in a nation where only the beautiful
People make their way to the big screen.
