She Writes A Letter To You by Jersey D GibsonComforting silence has ended,
you left her behind.
She laid out on the bed for hours,
a thousand things on her mind.
You walked out on her again,
silence worse than screaming.
Putting on your wedding ring,
you left her alone grieving.
She writes you a letter,
she wants you to know she cares.
She writes you a letter,
this is more than she can bear.
She writes a letter to you...
Alone for hours waiting for the call,
she knows that she's just getting used.
But she can't deny her feelings,
and she knows she can't refuse.
How can one treat another like this,
playing behind her back?
But she'll stand behind you always,
while your marriage goes slack.
She writes you a letter,
hoping that you will stay.
She writes you a letter,
hoping that you won't go away.
She writes a letter to you...
All the feelings, all the passion,
but all you want to do is make love.
All the meetings, all the hiding,
and all you want to do is make love.
Been at this for so long,
it isn't something romantic anymore.
No more discreet phone calls come,
she sits there feeling like a whore.
Now you're gone again, left her wanting,
she wanted to tell you something.
You left her so early in the morning,
she wanted to tell you what your love brings.
She writes you a letter,
she's telling you of your child.
She writes you a letter,
but you left her feeling so vile.
She writes a letter to you... 05/06/2005 Posted on 05/07/2005 Copyright © 2024 Jersey D Gibson

Posted by Maureen Glaude on 05/07/05 at 12:24 AM this could be turned into a great song too. Very moving and thoughtful. I liked the second last stanza best. I wondered if the playing behind her back might even be behind two backs, in a sense, the wife's and the mistress'? Well done. |
