just 'cause i know that there's 87 steps
upstairs, 3 broken turns, and two doors
before i get to my office and because
i know that it's 14.9 miles to my parking
place in the city and just because i
happen to know that i didn't step
on any sidewalk cracks and therefore
didn't break my dead-mother's back
and just with your knowing that i
sometimes, usually all times, cross
myself for Blessings for the SO FAR!,
and for sure, just because i know that
today is the 11,170th day and
the 278,080th hour and
the 16,684,800th minute of this life

and that i happen to know it,
just means that i'm obsessive;

now, if i were to do something
about all this information
then,
well then
i'd be compulsive too.

but since i just think about
these things, and a jillion others
and do nothing about them,

then you can't lable me o/c
because i'm just obsessive about
being obsessive and compulsive.
