as she broke down
from what tore her up inside
day and night
all caught up in a bind
wore the prettiest black dress
and a smile that no one deserves
yet inside her night sky fell apart
and her shining star went dull
her heart turn to ashes
for the boy that set their love aflames
and her eyes ceased to live
