A Mother

by Shonda Creemer

The beauty of a Mother
cannot be measured by her years.
It is found within her memories,
time so fragile and so dear.

Her wisdom is a precious gift
guiding paths for those she loves;
made known to her so graciously
from the Father up above.

Her kindness is portrayed
through her sincere and soothing ways;
caring for those she cherishes
every night and every day.

Her touch can calm her children's fears
and make the dark seem light.
Her soft voice can ease so many tears
and make it all just right.

Her faith is as strong as a lion.
Her prayers as gentle as the Lamb.
They stir the clouds of Heaven,
crying out to the great I AM.

Her virtue is unchanging,
even though life's seasons flow.
She stands her ground, her head held high;
reaping what she sows.

She sows a love so enduring
that her children plainly see;
how pure this love is for them,
the way God planned it to be.

Author's Note: I wrote this last year, had it framed and gave it to my Momma as her Mother's Day gift. Maybe one day, I will have the blessing of passing on to my children what she has passed on to me. I love you, Momma. T.T.& F.

Hi Shonda, This so beautiful, precious. I was going to say, this one should be printed and framed. I add it to my favorites list. Yes, that would be lovely too. I'm so glad you still have your Momma, you're so Blessed. Next month on the 17th of Nov, will be a year. Since my Mom passed away.
