my life as a jigsaw puzzle

by Shonda Creemer

I'm listening to the CD I received
with my mail this past Saturday
I like the song ~ but it's not
really what I want to hear

I'm tired of looking at the same
four walls day after day ~ they are
an awful shade of blue ~ I desperately
need some new color in my life

I put my cell phone on vibrate and
place it in my pocket so that I can
feel you when you call ~ but you
never do and I'm left waiting

I continue to lotion down my dreams
as I have with every breath before
counting the pages of my thoughts and
choose to chew that particular wad
of gum only on my birthday

Trying to connect the bits and pieces of
this existential puzzle ~ only to roll
it up inside one of those portable mats
and try again later with some other smile

well this poem fits perfectly together...I like the idea and the way you carried it out to the end....
