i wanna swallow her head

by Charlie Morgan

oh, just look at her, head tilted
in such a coy manner, eyes wet
with private dreams.

sparkle for the camera, they do
and reveal a girl/woman
inchoate with life's gestation

longing no more than anyone for
the pleasure of being someone
who matters--to anyone.

but doesn't the sly grin, & knowing smirk
scream "somethin's happenin' here!
don't go away empty handed!"

"take me!" she silently screams, and her
wet eyes form silver pools of hope
that he will make her real.

just a picture, and
i wanna swallow
her whole face, head too.

but, i'm helping Quixote tame
errant dragons disguised
as windmills.

still, when she looks
through you, it's me
she smiles at, me-only me.
