The Ghost on the Screen by Jennifer L Banks
My memory failed me tonight
As I saw a stranger looking back at me.
My once beloved Celtic knight
Part samurai, part bel esprit
I cried about the recent past
And for what will never be
I was wrong thinking this would last
As I sipped my warm green tea.
The ghost on the screen, eyes azure marine
This stranger now tainted and pale
Leaves me bittersweet like some tangerine
As he tells someone else a fairy tale.
