The Human Kind

by Maria Terezia Ferencz

If I were a Goddess
who would I be?
Filled with such love
I am Aphrodite

I am so earthy
I am not bourgeois
so humbly useful
Am I Gaia?

But no...
I am too dark too deep
I can't be she
I think I am
Persephone

Yet again at times
I am brutally wise
My head so full
of thoughts of dreams
Perhaps I am the great Athene?

Hold on cancel what I've said
for I am unthinking
I make mistakes I do not mean
breaking trusts
I must be Pheme

Yet I can be
the hunting kind
Stalking among men
Elusive sublime
Yes!
I could be the eternal Miss
so call me by the name
Artemis

I am also quite jealous
how my envy grows
am I wrong again?
Am I Hera?
Who the hell knows?

There are far too many sides to me
for just one name
to define
I guess I am just
the human kind

another great piece of introspection, realizing yourself helps you realize and understand others...if you choose to! ~JPP
