Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 08/09/06 at 03:46 PM This is a very interesting poem, and speaks of the speaker in a very directly spoken way. I have never seen a poem on this topic exactly. It is poised, aware, intense, and self conscious. On the content --savoring of risk and the delicious life-sense at the edge makes me feel you would be great at performing. So many people with skill do not know how to feed off the excitement to make themselves more vital! You do. I hope you do this, somehow, in music, or dance, etc. (I don't know you at all so I do not know, and this is the first poem I have read of yours.) Style: from a quick glimpse this one look a little different for you, and I do like it...it reads with the creath, as almost a song, and with a sure voice, and the rhyme is rather charmingly light compared with the topic. |
