.of your breath. by Kalikala SmithIt desperately makes me happy
to feel the warmth .of your breath.
on my neck
as we're positioning
and re-positioning ourselves
to fall asleep.
And the slow lazy pattern
.of your breath.
leaves me in the haze
of a summer's day
on a quiet beach.
And the soft sighs
and the tracing of my jaw-line, neckline,
with your finger
is incredibly endearing
and it makes me drift off to sleep
in your loving arms. 04/16/2005 Posted on 04/17/2005 Copyright © 2025 Kalikala Smith

| Posted by Marcus Jones on 04/21/05 at 05:39 AM i liked this poem because i understand that feeling of being the one who was doing "the soft sighs and the tracing of (the) jaw-line, (and) neckline" not too long ago. i miss those moments and your poem helps to remind me that those times in quiet comfort are truly precious. |
