it's almost enough

by Charlie Morgan

when you smile from over there
in that big, blue leather chair,

then
i'm filled, but not to over-flowing
i still have scars ever-showing

that
when we've argued before
it was hurtful, nothing more

and
now, years hence
especially the years spent

are
remembered still, with much laud
that i stand in applause

and
although it's tough
it's [just] almost enough

to make me love you for[my]ever.

moving, and conciliatory, Charlie. Well done. Neat last line
