Sometimes I think that if I could
just manage to keep my mouth closed
I wouldn't get in as much trouble.

However,
I have the urge to respond
reply, and redeem myself
from whatever I may be accused of.

If I could curb that need to riposte
then maybe one day
I'd have more boiling water for my tea
than for myself.
