I can cry here,
Safely away from everything else.
Maybe if I had been able to cry for you
Things would have been different.
If I hadn't seemed so far away
When I said those stammering,
Pointless words that ended everything,
It would be kind of ok.
Perhaps then you would see that still I care,
Though it's different now
Not what we both thought in the beginning.
Then we might still be at least friends.
I can't cry in front of people though,
I told you that,
I can't even manage to cry in front of you.
If I could have just maybe
You would still be able to look to me.
