Part 5 - If We Make It After All by Howard F FarewellSquinting
Even under the shade of hat and goggles
The heat rains down like the summer downpour
Of a home too far away
Sweat pouring
Dripping and soaking
Minutes like hours
Days more like weeks
There are no more adjectives for uncomfortable here
How much longer again they ask.
A dark shape appears
As the wind rises slightly at their backs
Light rain begins to filter through the air
Soon fellas
Soon
One looks up to the sky
Basking in the pleasant reprieve
Lets just finish this and go home. 04/02/2005 Posted on 04/02/2005 Copyright © 2026 Howard F Farewell
