Fear by Jeffrey ParrenAs time goes by
My exposure causes comfort.
Maybe a false one at that,
For the sights
Leave me, over,
Exposed to all the pain.
Momentary lapses remind
Of the monotonous toil,
Of worry and fright,
The feelings so unwanted.
The it of it-ing,
The it that multiplies.
If it causes itself,
Maybe I cause myself?
To be the way,
I want to not want.
The feelings so powerful,
The results so futile.
It shows red, black,
I see green, blue.
I like lying to myself,
How couldnt you?
As time goes by
My exposure causes comfort.
