a bottle on it's side (azure became the world) by Scott CadenceI am behind a vale
A guise of polymers
that saturate each syllable
my words
slipping away
before the first rays
of a hybrid morning
Another traffic light goes up
In the desert
And back East you find
nothing fits the shape of emptiness
like more emptiness:
it's just colder
but no credit will be given
to the man who laid you down
and sowed you end on end
seamless
for nothing more
than a feeling
It was not the way
But we all blind ourselves
intentionally -
Waiting for someone
who seems worthy,
Waiting for something
strong enough
to blow things apart
like a primer
rushing in
a clear view
Were stuck
In this dance of sorts
swooning like the willow
under a low moon
open
closed
physically
emotionally
half hidden
Vague like the space between
an ellipsis
building a future
that's uneasy
with a pen
Saving money
for a ticket home
waiting on a plane
that can't fly the distance for you
because there's no map made
to go that far in
