Irish Pub Queen

by James Zealy

Irish queen
Irish Green
Music loud
Boisterous crowd

Royalty in a bar
Flashing Eyes star
Blue green gems
Fiery tears heart whims

Myths of rudeness
Erasure of crudeness
Alas we find
Similarities in kind

Irish good time
Serenity sublime
Night reflections surround
Happiness abounds

Author's Note: My wife and I went to NY on my daughters choral Group trip. Much to our surprise we received a marvelous and courteous reception from most of the people we talked too, especially from an Irish pub owner named Kathleen Reilly. She treated us like family. She helped make this a trip to remember
