Once Broken

by Maria Terezia Ferencz

And to the waves that crash
I am screaming I don't care
They rush up fast fiercely pounding
snatching hopes so broken
littered on my shore
Why salvage scattered pieces of me
wasted wreckage of a dream
One less wish to sail to sea
I'll build my ship over send
a stronger dream
sail away once more
Stupid waves do you not see
I have no need for them
once broken
they are no good to me
I'll still try again

Perseverance is hard to maintain… soon we find ourselves searching for ourselves in the sand. After all, it’s easier to walk on a beach than to build a ship. But you’re right. The ocean is addictive. Let’s shed ourselves and sail! Great read.
