the day in the life of a dog (revised) by Kalikala SmithWhat a wonderful world it would be
if we could run around naked
and not be afraid to pee
on anything we've deemed worthy
of our lovely, smelly scent.
What a great life we'd have
if we could greet our friends
with a good sniff of the butt.
And what if we didn't have any language
but the simple understanding of
"I sniff you, you sniff me...
okay we're cool. Let's go chase that stick."
What if we actually liked eating slop
sincerely preferring it over expensive food
like caviar and sushi.
What if we didn't need the television
to entertain us.
A good bone or toy would be just fine.
And what if we just loved everyone
and wagged our tails in delight
anytime anyone came near.
What if we could just forget
all the silly stresses of life
and just be a butt-sniffer,
a dry-humper, a smelly, furry, licks our own ass,
dog?
03/22/2005 Author's Note: okay, this took a turn that i didn't initially expect, but i kinda like where it went. its a little explicit, but if you've ever worked with dogs... well, that's exactly how it is. they're happy-go-lucky animals that love to smell and hump each other. its the gosh darn truth. :)

| Posted by Shonda Chrissonberry on 03/24/05 at 01:40 AM Oh my ~ hilarious piece Kalikala ~ I have two doggies ~ Saussie my Chihuahua ~ and Squire my Jack Russell ~ and sometimes I look at them and wonder what must be going through their little noggins ~ and then I think how sweet it must be to live as they do! (but of course, I much prefer living as a human!) :) |
