At The Door

by Charles M Harrison

God is standing at the the door waiting to come in.
Although he has knocked a thousand times he knocks once again.
Softly he knocks, not wishing to intrude.
Gently he knocks, not wishing to be rude.
He stands waiting for the door to open wide,
He is waiting to be invited inside.
He stands waiting, won't you let him in?
He only wants to love you and take you home with him.
God is waiting at the doorway to your heart.
He is waiting to give your life a new start.
