soft and gentle by Angela ThomasYou let me down last night, like a loving father would put
down their child. You placed me on my bed, soft and gentle,
and then you brought your face close to mine, so I could
smell your sweet hedonistic scent and you whispered
softly in my ear, "I've never loved you. You've created a false
world for me to love you in. You make me sick." Then, a drop
of water slid out and you continued, "Go on and cry you little
bitch. That's the most emotion I'm ever going to give you."
You reached down, planted your horribly soft and cruel lips
on my forehead, giving just the right pressure to assure that
I had felt them. Pulled up the covers around my shoulders,
tucking me in securely, and then you walked toward the door
without a sound, twisted the worn knob and passed through
just another threshold on your way out of my life. 03/16/2005 Posted on 03/16/2005 Copyright © 2024 Angela Thomas
