I was divided
"And a few remainders"
She added
"Even fractions factor wholes"
I was divided by her
"Fractions don't count"
I was divided by her tilting axis,
undefined, limitting time;
accurate but imprecise.

In average we added up,
balanced by the rate of change
over-time--we shared a clock plot,
she had her math, I had my pot.
We were cooking
with borrowed reference tables
and number two mechanical pencils
snapping stabs on paper desks
where we tested time in fractal sets.
