My Body is a Lawn

by Ava Blu

I am as green as this pen
Grass growing from my eyes
You’re my lawn mower, honey
Won’t you wack these weeds around my heart?

Can’t seem to move
Without dirt filling my lungs
You keep planting more seeds
Losing me inside your soil

I aint paying you to cut me
Until you prove your worth
There are bugs in my eyes now
And the sun is fading
You gotta finish your job, honey
Before the weeds consume your love.
